Aerial Lift Operator Safety Training
Aerial lift operator safety training training certification is a requirement. According to OSHA, employers that have any mobile power-propelled truck used to carry, pull, push, lift, stack or tie materials in a work environment by employees need to develop and implement a safety program based on the general principles of safe truck operations.
This program will discuss topics relating to the safe use and operation of aerial work platforms. The practical component of this program is conducted at your company locations and participants using their facility’s equipment.
Trained Operators must know how to do the job properly and to safely as demonstrated by workplace evaluation. Formal training (lecture, video) and practical demonstration must be provided by employers. Employers must also certify that each employee (operator) is trained and certified to operate aerial equipment properly. Employers are also responsible for keeping track of all certifications and offer refresher courses to their employees every 3 years.
Who Should Conduct Aerial Lift Operator Safety Training?
All training and evaluation must be conducted by persons with the necessary knowledge, training, and experience to train powered industrial (Aerial) equipment operators and evaluate their competence. An example of a qualified trainer would be a person who, by possession of a recognized degree, certificate, or professional standing, or who by extensive knowledge, training, and experience has demonstrated the ability to train and evaluate powered industrial truck operators.
